Trump has effectively rolled back all the previous administrations' efforts to check China's growing influence. Most countries that have relied on Uncle Sam will now look elsewhere, namely China. Job well done, Mr. Trump.
Is this happening? MAGA ---> MCG Make America Great Again ---> Make China Great I guess it has since President Nixon's visit to China. Who knows, when China is a superpower, China will follow President Trump in renaming nouns. Gulf of Mexico ---> Gulf of America Sea of Japan ---> Sea of China Taiwan Strait ---> China Strait Yellow Sea - no change East China Sea - no change
There are very few moves anyone can make that will not empower the old Han Empire. The African Continent is an option for development and should be pursued. Tariffs and isolationist rhetoric does nothing with full globalization in process. Running a nation state does not compare to running a hotel chain nor a prime time television show. Anyone who has claimed bankruptcy 3 times should be focused on building trust versus putting on a song dance James Clapper First DNI (Director of National Intelligence) was my choice for 2024. Akuma
I believe so. Europe, especially, will feel betrayed by Trump and will wean their reliance on the US. Not only economic ties but military ties as well. On that note, I'm fairly certain they will eventually drive the US out of NATO. Just look at how Trump left them out of the peace agreement with Russia. Is that the way you treat your closest allies? I don't think so. Also Asian countries that have been under the umbrella of US protection, such as Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, will likely chart their own future. Even though that will certainly start a nuclear arms race in that region, who can blame them? Trump never gave any concrete assurance that he would come to their rescue in times of war. And why wouldn't they make nukes when they have the technological and economic resources to do it? They're not gonna just sit around until something happens expecting the US to be there for them. All in all, the US will only isolate itself further from the rest of the world. In the meantime, the rest of the world will just move on amongst themselves, forgng new ties, bridging new coalition, establishing new trading bloc, etc.
Last year USA bought over half a trillion of products from China, I doubt other countries going to make up differences. https://www.worldstopexports.com/chinas-top-import-partners/ Hallelujah, if we got out of NATO. We spend most in both bodies and money.
We'll see about that, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. First off, Americans have been straight-up addicted to cheap Chinese crap for the better part of 30 years. You slap a fat tariff on that stuff and watch prices skyrocket—most of these shopaholics are gonna lose their damn minds. A full-blown consumer detox? Yeah right. People don’t just flip a switch and change overnight. Human nature doesn’t work that way. Second, let’s not kid ourselves—our global clout ain’t what it used to be. Hollywood's lost its magic, our music doesn’t rule the world anymore, and the military? Hell, half of it looks more like a DEI seminar than a fighting force. I don’t even know if we could defend our own turf right now. And don’t even get me started on the national debt—we’re drowning in it. It’d take multiple generations to crawl out of that hole—if we ever do (and a big friggin' IF). Honestly, I doubt we will.
Now throw Trump’s new tariffs into the mix, and it’s like tossing a grenade into a shaky-ass house of cards. Slapping massive duties on Chinese imports might sound like a power move, but let’s not pretend we’re the only ones who’ll feel the heat. This isn’t just a trade war—it’s an economic suicide waiting to happen. You sever ties with China, and you're not just cutting off cheap goods—you’re ripping out a critical artery in the global supply chain. Prices are gonna spike, businesses will panic, and countries that used to count on us might start looking elsewhere, like straight into China’s open arms. We’re not isolating them. We’re isolating ourselves. And China? They’re not gonna just roll over. They’ll retaliate in ways that’ll sting—hard. From rare earth minerals to tech, agriculture to manufacturing. They hold cards we don’t even want to admit they have. While we’re talking reality checks, let’s be real. China’s playing the long game while we’re out here arguing over pronouns and TikTok trends. They’re building infrastructure, locking down resources, and quietly repositioning the entire board and expanding influence across the globe. All that time, we're over here merely chest-thumping and chanting "Make America Great Again!" So yeah, Trump might get his headlines and applause from the MAGA wingnuts but behind the scenes? This could wreck our standing globally, shatter alliances, and light the fuse on an inflation bomb that hits everyone, from Wall Street to Main Street. And here’s the real kicker. While Trump’s out here trying to choke China out with these tariffs, what he’s really doing is setting them up for a bigger power grab. You can slap tariffs on their goods, but they don’t need us as much as we need them. While we’re over here pushing the "America first" agenda, China’s already plotting to fill the vacuum we’re leaving behind. They’ve got the infrastructure, the manufacturing, the resources—and they’re building relationships with other countries that are all too happy to turn to them for trade. We’ve already seen China step into markets that used to be dominated by the West, especially in Africa and Asia. They’re not just sitting around waiting for us to come to our senses—they’re accelerating their global influence, especially in places that once looked to us for leadership. Instead of crippling China, we’re handing them a golden ticket. The tariffs are only gonna force China to double down on their own self-reliance, boosting their tech, securing supply chains, and even strengthening their currency. In the long run, they might not just survive the storm—they’ll come out the other side stronger, while we’re left trying to patch up the wreckage we’ve caused. So go ahead and punch China in the gut with tariffs. What we’re really doing is lighting the fuse on a new world order where China’s sitting pretty at the top, and we’re left scrambling, wondering where the hell all our allies went.
Watch the movie Red Corner 1997. Great film and a great soundtrack 90's movies just hits differently. Great era. A soulful era, a purer era, a real era, a natural era
