Huge blow to warmongers in this country. This is exactly the kind of thing that Kamala Harris and Liz Cheney and the rest of the establishment feared.

With U.S. support for Kyiv in doubt, many European officials see diplomacy as the best option for Ukraine

President-electDonald Trump’s push for peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine is finding growing acceptance among Ukraine’s European allies, who increasingly worry that time isn’t on Ukraine’s side in the war.

While European leaders have started discussions to see whether they could fill any funding gap for Kyiv if the incoming Trump administration cuts off support, officials in many capitals recognize that an off-ramp to the conflict appears increasingly necessary. They note how Russia is gaining ground asUkraine struggles for troopsand weapons.

The increased alignment between Europe and the Trump administration over the openness for talks is a sharp turnaround from even six months ago. Back then, European officials looked in dread at the Trump team’s pledge to end the war with swift negotiations amid fears that the former president would cut a deal with the Kremlin at Ukraine’s expense.

Trump will cut funding to Ukraine and then increase funding for Israel to deal with Iran.
Rubio for Sec State is the green light for continuing the money flow.

Germany might lack a backbone but Poland doesn't.

Guess why Putin fires a salvo hours after talking to Scholz BTW. Weakness isn't going to get peace with Putin.

Neither is Zelensky going to sign a paper that screws Ukraine over again like Minsk I and II, Putin's signature is worth zilch.

  8. only way to win the war is send urkaine millions in arms and help them push back. But the election told us no one wants that anymore.....Putin knows he can last longer than the west so trump has to uphold his promise and abandon Ukraine and let putin take it. He has no other choice unless he wants to go back on his word.

The election is what it is, no point for me derailing the thread by spending more words on it. The rest is the Russian narrative, which has been rather successfully implanted (or one might say 'incepted' based on a certain movie) into the minds of the American people. Russia spends billions to that end on bots and plebs in social media, running at first glance respectable news outlets, convincing journalists in actual respectable news outlets to write favorable pieces, buying policymakers, etc.

Did you know that the Russian economy is breaking as soon as next year? Little is needed to push it over the brink. There is already hyperinflation, rail system and other infrastructures are collapsing, etc. But no "we should surrender Ukraine". Because that's what Russia says.

You let Putin take Ukraine, you just a guy who styles himself a Czar and after Stalin (and whose ideology shows similarities to Hitler's) take Europe's biggest country with one of the world's most effective militaries, and there's a slippery slope from there. The longer one waits the bigger the problem grows, and more expensive it becomes to solve, and the more people will die.

As for whether others can fill the US' shoes is a different matter. Poland is forming an alliance with the intent to do that - because there is no alternative for them and a lot of their neighbors.
