So upholding the law is "weaponizing" it. You REALLY should read these before you post.

LOS ANGELES — The U.S. government agency that oversees immigration applications is launching an office that will focus on identifying Americans who are suspected of cheating to get their citizenship and seek to strip them of it.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director L. Francis Cissna told The Associated Press in an interview that his agency is hiring several dozen lawyers and immigration officers to review cases of immigrants who were ordered deported and are suspected of using fake identities to later get green cards and citizenship through naturalization.

Holy crap, from the very first paragraph:

LOS ANGELES — The U.S. government agency that oversees immigration applications is launching an office that will focus on identifying Americans who are suspected of cheating to get their citizenship and seek to strip them of it.

    And this is weaponizing. WTF.

He really is taking 'always get even' to a new level.

    一個小偷對著小偷大喊 :) So funny.

So now they have made an overt threat to anyone naturalised they might find cause to investigate anyone.

Oh, ok, I guess we should set up a government agency to investigate citizens who have acted "crazy" and take their guns then.

We should also set up an office to investigate instances of slander and libel, and take their rights to publish or book speaking gigs.

Or take the voting rights of people who have neglected to vote in the past (oh wait, that's already happening).

If acting crazy was against law, yeah.

We should, if they've broken the law. It is already illegal for someone to be a criminal and own a gun. If they lied or cheated on their application to get a gun, they should have those guns removed! Absolutely.

Harder to do, with that pesky Free Speech amendment you liberals hate and all, but still, there are ways to prosecute libel already in place. And laws to go after folks guilty.

That's not happening at all. All you have to do is re-register to vote. All their doing is obeying the law already in place that states have the right to clear up voter registration of unused and "stale" registration. If someone hasn't voted in years and gets removed, they have merely to re-register to vote. Takes all of about 10 min.

You seem upset about laws. Might I suggest a country more to your liking?

The point here is there is already a system in place that checks for fraud on the forms before granting citizenship. We don't need one to go back and redefine irregularities as lies just to scare immigrants not into becoming citizens because we want to cheat them out of voting next election cycle.

This is like allowing the government to make the determination of "crazy" to strip people of their 2nd.
