Trump says to HODL as Bitcoin is going to the moon

Discussion in 'Wall St. News' started by Nighthawk, Jul 28, 2024.

    • Filled with respect and admiration for what the Bitcoin community has achieved
    • Bitcoin is a miracle of cooperation and human achievement
    • If US doesn't embrace crypto technology, China and other countries will dominate
    • Bitcoin is going to the moon, I want the US to lead the way
    • "Never sell your Bitcoin"
    • "I want crypto to be mined and made in America"
    • Will appoint a Bitcoin and crypto presidential advisory council when he gets elected
    • Will create a strategic national Bitcoin stockpile
He also adds that he will fire SEC chair, Gary Gensler, "on day one" as he says that he wants someone in the post who "should not block the future". For some context, Gensler is not the most popular person in the crypto industry amid his views and law enforcing actions against the likes of Coinbase and Binance.

Besides that, Trump also vows to make the US the "crypto capital of the planet" and says that Bitcoin isn't a threat to the dollar's status.

So, I thought I have a relaxing morning at the beach and then I read this here and spit my coffee! WTF? They must pay him some serious money for his campaign! :finger::sneaky::sneaky::sneaky:

  1. Nobody pays him a dime.

    It's just common sense.

Trump knows that BTC is a great commodity,
    which can go anywhere.

And if it is already like that, he wants to have it in the US.

That is the new decentralized economy:

Governments can no longer keep their start up founders, entrepreneurs etc. in hostage!

    Its over.
Decentralization puts an end to this.

    Which is good:
Capitalism with clear rules rises again, and fights off socialism and communism
(those socialists will have to cry a lot).

Capitalism with clear rules is what made america big.

In future, the real performant people & entrepreneurs will have all possibilities, to choose where and how to live.

    Real freedom.

  2. Trump made Kodak jump from $2 to $60, that was a great pump and dump!

“Nobody paid him a dime” more like $847,000 for a close meal with Trump! Bloomberg said on Friday, it’s not about grifting. Personal photos were $25,000-$50,000.

  3. Ok, totally normal prices for a planned meet-up , I guess (?)

Other celebraties taking a lot more, for sure...
and no one forces anybody to pay that.

But, no one paid him a dime to be on btc's side.

  4. “Above all things have intense and unfailing love for only money, for money covers a multitude of sins”

Trump calls CDBCs “very dangerous” and labels the power of AI “scary”

  5. Where is the problem??

He just said yesterday, that there will be no CBDC's under his administration,
    and the crowd applaused.

Do you actually know what CBDS's are, and why all crypto holders (as well as others) are against it?

CBDC's are just fiat currencies (dollar etc.), on the chain.
That way the gov. can track all your transactions (like it is today as well),
and confiscate your assets if it wants to.
CBDC's are the opposite of decentralized coins.

And with AI, he might not be that wrong...
    Afterall it's a mighty technology.

  6. Wikipedia:

Sociologist Nigel Dodd, citing the crypto-anarchist Declaration of Bitcoin's Independence, argues that the essence of the bitcoin ideology is to remove money from social, as well as governmental, control. The Economist describes bitcoin as "a techno-anarchist project to create an online version of cash, a way for people to transact without the possibility of interference from malicious governments or banks".

I would guess Bitcoiners don't mind institutional adoption and governmental support if it can keep increasing the price of Bitcoin as that's really the only reason to own it. :)

  7. Don't underestimate the lightning network.

It can be used to process small payments.

If btc is being adopted for retail payments, then this will be the system.

It is more likely that btc will be the one, as it is a commodity.

Ethereum, Solana aso. rely on Proof of Stake,
only BTC works with Proof of Work.

    A whole difference.

BTC is the most decentralized chain, unlike VCs backed Ethereum or Solana...

  8. Maybe Trump is just trolling for bitcoiner votes..

  9. Pekelo

    Pekelo

    The correct quote is:

"I want ALL crypto to be mined and made in America."

What is of course, incredible stupid thing to say. He also proposed a stockpile of crypto, clearly showing he doesn't understand anything about the technology...
