We will have Gaza,” he said when asked about his prior statement about purchasing the long-occupied piece of land. “We're going to take it, we're going to hold it, we're going to cherish it. We're going to get it going eventually, where a lot of jobs are going to be created for the people in the Middle East. The thing is, Hamas agreed a ceasefire and hostage exchange and then Trump jumps in with we are going to take Gaza and ethnic cleanse. This of course alarms Hamas, they are having a very big woah-woah-woah moment and so Trump has callously put hostages back in danger.
I believe I read that Fort Israel was massing troops and equipment on the Gaza border during the cease fire and exchange, and that showed Hamas that Fort Israel was going to resume the genocide soon anyway. No Trump action specifically required.
I can’t fully explain it here, but my belief that the attack and hostage-taking were knowingly allowed to happen by Netanyahu and his inner circle comes from a personal friend in Israel, someone with direct knowledge of the situation. Their calculus was that they needed a crisis, so they put a thumb on the scales, knowing that many Israelis would find it unlikely due to the immense political risk in the timing. And yet, they ultimately weathered it as political survivors do and of course narcissists who think they have a destiny writ large, calmly assume they will do. The other argument, we are terrible at keeping secrets so nobody would try that.. Does not hold much water with me. That belief shapes how I view everything that followed. It’s never comfortable to feel absolute certainty about something that others, reasonably, consider speculative, even when some strong public evidence emerged to support it. Hurts the brains.

I'm sure they were not that stupid to think Trump was better for the people of Gaza. They know he's a convicted felon and a liar above the lying levels of any other past U.S. President. On top of that, they knew about Jared and Trump's rumor plans for taking over Gaza in Trump's first term as President. My point, they knew exactly what Trump was about and they still voted for him, stayed home and didn't vote, or voted for someone else to get back at Biden. No sympathy for the Progressives and those who do not understand what happens when they let a convicted felon sit in the White House aka as sleeping in the bed with the greater evil. In the meantime, our U.S. now suddenly doesn't have enough money for maintaining security (immigration enforcement) of the southern border. We need an additional $175 billion dollars. Looks like it's time to kill more government agencies to use their funds for the southern border.
