inb4 Judges no longer need a degree.

Honestly not even that mad except I can't think of a job that would qualify someone to begin with without having higher degree training. An engineer turned painter?

Let's see how many F1 visas are issued on these news.

The shift in hiring protocols will recognize the value of learning regardless of whether it occurs on the job or in the classroom, said Brooke Rollins, acting director of the White House Domestic Policy Council, which oversees the president’s domestic agenda.

The government is not eliminating the college requirement entirely but instead will stress skills in jobs where having a degree is less important.
Two-thirds of Americans do not have a college degree.

A college or graduate degree is necessary to work in many occupations, but the need for educational credentials is less certain for many other fields, said Michael Rigas, acting director of the Office of Personnel Management.

Donald Trump loves the 'poorly educated' — and they love him

Why does someone telling me Turkey's Ergodan used advanced degrees as a criteria to fire government officials after the coup he staged come to mind?

As with the judges, these pliant peeps will rise through the ranks.

Even his Melania can work for the government now as she has no tertiary education (past some of first year).

In grad school I sat by someone who fled Mozambique when the communists took over. She had worked in an agricultural field office, had a masters degree in agriculture. Her family came with guns to take her out one afternoon. Later that day everyone else there was killed. She escaped the country and came for a PhD at the U of Az.
Within just a couple of years the country was sending her letters begging her to return. Following communist doctrine they had killed all the higher educated people. Why do you think so many die when communism takes over? After just a couple of years they couldn't fix the water system that was breaking down. The electricity was failing. Nothing was working. And the crops were failing. No one knew what to do.
    She never went back.

while a sad story, communism is relevant to this thread how exactly?

You mean the civil war? Between the late 70s and 92? The Marxists/Communists lost after the Soviet Union failed. It was quite a proxy war. I'm sure they wanted qualified people to return then alright. I was there for a bit on a holiday from some work nearby. The beaches are truly amazing. Landmines everywhere sucked.

Well... it is one more similarity to Putin and Trump together. The topic just reminds me of a slippery slope... that could go that far. Hope not.
This is in the general concept that Trump wants to be an autocrat similar to Putin, etc, those he seems to admire. Communism seems to go along with that way of doing business these days.
