Just moving the goal posts... Trump once defined success as keeping US COVID deaths below 200,000. When he failed, he said real failure would be 2.5 million dead. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/trump-once-defined-success-keeping-103203278.html "Under Trump's new set of criteria, it would seem anything below 2.5 million deaths could be hailed as a success."
He simply doesn't care, its all about him. Trump has scheduled large campaign rallies this weekend in Wisconsin despite recommendations from the White House Coronavirus Task Force that call for increasing social distancing in the state “to the maximal degree possible,” the Washington Post reports. “Wisconsin is listed in the document as the state with the third-highest rate of new cases in the country, with 243 new cases per 100,000 people over the previous week, about 2.6 times greater than the national average.”
Remind me again...in 7 of the last 8 elections in Wisconsin...how did they vote? Oh blue. So strange how all the blue states have such high covid cases, but the red states have such low covid cases. Maybe the coronavirus hates democrats because it totally couldn't be about democrat leadership that's causing all the cases, could it?
America's laurels are wilted and faded. That's not permanent, it just means it's time to get back to work. And work smarter, not harder.
How the fuck would dem leadership, calling for universal mask usage, social distancing, and lockdowns where warranted, "cause" covid infections? That's drop dead stupid.
I thought Florida and Texas were still Republican run. They are leaders in the fight to keep Covid alive in America. And careful now some of the red states you love are picking up steam in terms of new cases. Covid doesn't care what your political stance is; it loves deniers who put up the least resistance. Trump holding huge meetings mostly mask less people packed together is ignorant.
the virus will see a resurgence when states reopen, Nine. That's just how the virus works, right? The fact that many "blue" states are fine right now is because many are still locked down. When they reopen, you'll see it there as well. OR there will be a vaccine, but they will have beaten down their economies in the meantime. Red/Blue makes no matter, as you said and I agree. Open/Close is what matters.
Heh, wait and see when next year after the vaccine is released, we see the same crap happening with the infection numbers because half of the country won't trust the vaccine, thus won't take it. So yay, we have the vaccine and all our lockdowns are lifted! Why isn't it working?!? Oh nos, we have the vaccine, but we still gotta' lockdown! Damned circus this all is.
Wait till you see the vaccine being mandatory for healthcare, public service, military, and public school employees plus students in most states. Be interesting to see the uproar. Just remember the polio vaccine was mandatory for all of these people in most states - so it is not like this is not unprecedented.
