Trump’s Russian Laundromat How to use Trump Tower and other luxury high-rises to clean dirty money, run an international crime syndicate, and propel a failed real estate developer into the White House. In 1984, a Russian émigré named David Bogatin went shopping for apartments in New York City. The 38-year-old had arrived in America seven years before, with just $3 in his pocket. But for a former pilot in the Soviet Army—his specialty had been shooting down Americans over North Vietnam—he had clearly done quite well for himself. Bogatin wasn’t hunting for a place in Brighton Beach, the Brooklyn enclave known as “Little Odessa” for its large population of immigrants from the Soviet Union. What Trump said when he lied to the LGBTQ community when he needed their votes: What Trump says now: http://www.cnn.com/2017/07/26/politics/trump-military-transgender/index.html And: Everyone he claims he consulted with in the military were totally blindsided.
The lies Trump told voters on healthcare, I know what it is like to be conned and feel like a chump when you believe these people. Alas, it is not against the law to lie in campaigns.
Let's be fair here. Trumps comments in that posted video seemed to be entirely about the rights of LGBT folks to happiness. He stated that they should be allowed to love who they choose, and should not be subject to persecution. However, the decision to not allow them to serve doesn't necessarily mean he suddenly changed this view point. There are logistical, defensive and financial reasons why having trans gendered individuals serving in active duty prohibits the efficient functioning of our armed forces. I know everyone wants to immediately assume Trump made this decision because he hates transgender individuals - it's much easier to say that and it fits the current narrative. I'm all for jumping on him for not keeping his promises on a number of topics. But I want to do so fairly.
