Trump Defenders Scramble To Explain POTUS’ COVID Quackery

The White House and several prominent defenders of President Donald Trump twisted themselves into knots Friday, attempting to “fact check” reporting on the President’s own suggestion that injections of disinfectant could prove effective against COVID-19.

In a statement to TPM Friday, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany didn’t deny what Trump had said the night before, but she did accuse the media of “irresponsibly” taking the President out of context.

“President Trump has repeatedly said that Americans should consult with medical doctors regarding coronavirus treatment, a point that he emphasized again during yesterday’s briefing,” McEnany said. “Leave it to the media to irresponsibly take President Trump out of context and run with negative headlines.”

Media reports from Trump’s Thursday night press conference merely quoted the commander in chief. After a DHS official referred to a study showing that UV light and disinfectant were effective in killing the novel coronavirus on non-porous surfaces like playground equipment, Trump took things about a dozen steps further.

First, he suggested that UV light or “just very powerful light” could be brought inside the body to treat COVID-19, “either through the skin or in some other way.”

Then, Trump noted that “disinfectant knocks it out in a minute.”

“Is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning?” Trump asked the DHS official. “Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it’d be interesting to check that. So that you’re going to have to use medical doctors with.”

After that spiel went viral, a few of Trump’s most ardent defenders stepped in to try and help.

Joel Pollack, editor-at-large of the far-right website Brietbart, “fact-checked” reporting that Trump had suggested injecting people with disinfectant to cure COVID-19.

Except, it wasn’t much of a fact check.

“Trump used the word ‘inject,’ but what he meant was using a process — which he left ‘medical doctors’ to define — in which patients’ lungs might be cleared of the virus, given new knowledge about its response to light and other factors,” Pollack wrote.

Scott Adams, the creator of the Dilbert comic strips and a contrarian writer and Twitter personality, hopped on the band wagon next.

Trump wasn’t just making stuff up, Adams insisted. He had simply “speculated about far-UV light catheter technology.”

Adams posted a video of a new catheter device, “Healight,” being inserted into a hypothetical patient’s breathing tube and shining UV light on their windpipe and lungs.

“There’s a massive IQ test on the Internet today,” Adams wrote separately, referring to people who disagreed with him.

If Trump was referring to the new medical device, he didn’t make that clear Thursday.

Asked if Trump really was referring to the UV light catheter technology, a White House spokesperson told TPM simply, “I don’t know the answer to that one.”

Trump said Friday that he answered “sarcastically” during a White House task force briefing when he said that disinfectants may be used to treat coronavirus, Axios reports.

Of course, the comments were on video, so judge for yourself.

The explanation is easy. Trump is a Cylon.

Only a machine would suggest what he suggested. Easy-Off™ for the internals, you know?

Trump should read ET, he wouldn't have sounded (quite) so stupid. At least I added a filter.
And I didn't say a word about drinking it.

maybe just bring lysol to a boil and inhale the fumes deeply. Like put your head into
a plasitc bag with a little boiling lysol -- just a Tablespoon.

Gasoline might also work. Maybe Trump can order someone at NIH to check that out too.

He is truly a "stable genius." What kind of "stable" was that ? Oh I get it, he meant "horse stable", like a genius at shoveling shit and straw...

Heat can kill the Corona Virus. Direct sunlight more specifically, so, outdoors Corona Virus can be more effectively controlled in parks and beaches. Wind will also, dissipate the Corona Virus lessening the chances of severe infections. What about saunas and hot baths? Maybe, that may be able to kill the Corona Virus on those who test positive?

Fasting is the key. I am 1000% certain of that. I should have it. Weeks ago. I don't.

Spinach, grapefruit, fresh baked turkey breast, and lots of fresh air and aerobic activity.
    And water. Gallons of water.

I am one out of 4 (maybe more) that don't have it, and probably the highest risk of all when it comes to vices. Why is that? Because I know.... fasting makes your body stronger. I don't care what anyone says. It does. It sucks, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. I started feeling sick and I shut it all down. Everyone else is "recovering".

Have heard a lot of good things about fasting. Not sure I can last eating just once, a day. I think that is how they work it and drink a lot of water.

Not 100% sure on this.... but Zinc too. I got that from a member here that really is into this stuff, and I think he's right.
It is hard to barely eat, but it can be done. Just use lots of ranch dressing on the salads lol. Bake your own turkey breasts. The more vegetables the better. Its not really fasting in the true sense I guess, but if you can't fast.... eat pure food.
