BETHPAGE, NY—Admitting that he was overcome with terror after realizing what he had done, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump told reporters he caught himself briefly believing his own campaign rhetoric during a rally Wednesday night. “Oh, Jesus, for a few seconds there I actually found myself agreeing on a deep, personal level with the things I was saying—what the hell was I thinking?” said the shaken GOP frontrunner, recalling with horror that, right in the middle of his speech, he started to readily accept his vows that he would unite the country, force Mexico to finance the construction of a border wall, and eradicate ISIS. “Wow, I’m not sure how I started buying into that load of bull**** about other countries starting to respect the U.S. if I become president. That’s just so clearly ridiculous. I’ve got to be on my toes a little more and make sure this never happens again.” Trump also reportedly expressed serious concern that many of his supporters appeared to believe him when he said he would act more presidential if elected. http://elections.ap.org/content/trump
Inconsequential what Drumpf believes or not, since his rhetoric changes, often 180 degrees, within hours of his uttering it. Today's case, his reversal (or maybe not) re his tax returns.
mars vs venus,,,you hear words, we hear attitude. He uses words you know to mean one thing, but the way he says it means something else to us.
Maybe that'll be what honestly happens. Haven't decided on Trump, but I don't think people already privy to such information should be arbitraging the information gap to gain a political advantage in the mean time.
You really just don't get it. And the more literal you take what he says, the silier you look. Do you take notes and analyize pre fight trash talk?
Actually, I think Drumpf's policy has been simple, straightforward and remarkably consistent: to say whatever he thinks he needs to say in that moment to get traction. That he may subsequently feel the need to say something different only means that we are now in a different moment. It's all very Zen.
