Trump administration gives schools a deadline to end DEI programs or risk losing federal money WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration is giving America’s schools and universities two weeks to eliminate diversity initiatives or risk losing federal money, raising the stakes in the president’s fight against “ wokeness.” In a memo Friday, the Education Department gave an ultimatum to stop using “racial preferences” as a factor in admissions, financial aid, hiring or other areas. Schools are being given 14 days to end any practice that treats students or workers differently because of their race. Educators at colleges nationwide were rushing to evaluate their risk and decide whether to stand up for practices they believe are legal. The sweeping demand threatens to upend all aspects of campus operations, from essays on college applications to classroom lessons and campus clubs. It’s meant to correct what the memo described as rampant discrimination in education, often against white and Asian students.
It's high noon for the colleges and universities that have been blatantly ignoring the Supreme Court's ruling in the Harvard Asian admissions case. Most schools have a great deal of dependence on Federal money.
Trump stopping Federal money for illegal immigrants. Why give DEI two weeks, just cut them off cold. Doge is monitoring compliance, if bureaucrats stall they get fired.
My ex girlfriend's high school!!! NUTS!!! https://www.nightingale.org/our-people/ Assistant Head of School for Diversity and Equity, which is BULLSHIT!!!
She was class of 1994 (we are the same age). I then went to Duke, and parties were OK. Then NYC; Wall Street. These were beyond parties. Celebrities, movie stars, rock stars, etc. There is not a single week where I see in a magazine or on the Internet/TV, a pretty famous person, whom I am on a first name basis... Try that???
As soon as Dems are back in power DEI will be back.Considering Trumps approval ratings are nearly in the toilet in less than a month Dems will likely be back in 2029.Unfortunately Dems wont be able to do anything about the 10 + trillion in debt Trump leaves behind.
