Three Americans and a Briton who foiled a suspected terror attack on a train have received France's top honour from President Francois Hollande.

Mr Hollande presented Spencer Stone, Alek Skarlatos, Anthony Sadler and Briton Chris Norman with the Legion d'honneur at the Elysee Palace.

Two other unnamed passengers will receive the honour at a later date.

The passengers overpowered a suspected radical Islamist on a high-speed train bound for Paris on Friday.

French authorities are questioning the suspect, 25-year-old Moroccan Ayoub El-Khazzani.

France needs to do something about their gun laws

The gun laws on France are very straight-forward. Guns are for terrorists only.

Coupled with their "always retreat and surrender" philosophy - it combines to create a real "winner".

Why am I not surprised even this p&r thread would turn into a bigot fest? This time, against the French. You klan bitches just can't contain yourselves.

Why don't you visit any WW2 veteran and ask them why the phrase "nos braves alliés" is considered to be such a joke. While you are at it ask them about the Vichy regime and how many Frenchmen collaborated to ship tens of thousands of Jews to their deaths.

So because some were fuckups, they're ALL fuckups? Yeah, there's the klan "logic" I'm so familiar with.

BTW, the first passenger to attack the terrorist on that train, and the one who got shot, was French.

Denigrating France makes America appear greater. That greatness transfers to the strongly nationalistic.

But getting back on topic. It was fortunate that the perp's guns were inoperable. This made closing the 10 meter distance safe for the Marines. Of course they didn't know this, so their heroism is intact.

  10. I think the French were humbly grateful and courteous. Why cheapen the moment with snide commentary?
