Have you all noticed how much more intelligent and positive ET has been this last couple of days? A couple of childish negative troll moron posters were recently temp-banned (thx Baron). See how much more peaceful and smart the forum was this weekend? Makes ET much more welcoming to everyone and less negative.. all it takes is a few bad apples to sour an otherwise excellent forum. Now the tone is much more professional and focused on trading, vs personal attacks and bs. Much better imho. What are your thoughts?
I used to run a forum and my members appreciated my booting negative trolls, because a few jerks can really dumb things down. I appreciate positive, constructive dialogue vs thuggish troll posts. To eliminate multiple identities from same person I do IP-address level blocking at root in cpanel
What do you call it when a sponsor complaining about abuse from trolls behaves like the biggest troll? Answer: A delicious irony.
Trolls are funny. There are too many pansies that weren't around in the wild west days of the internet. You wouldn't believe how many forum posters have fucked my mom! It's incredible. If you let a troll bait you, you're the problem not the troll. That being said some of the most fun forums didn't have sponsors. It's understandable if you are trying to run a business and need to appease working stiffs in a marketing office for money. The guys who run the board have families to feed too. For a bunch of traders there are so many people here who act like complete snowflakes because someone called them a mean name. Have these people ever watched a video of what it was like trading in the pits? LMAO. Wouldn't survive 20 minutes after a guy punks you for your spot. We even have an ignore feature. Just put them on ignore. To be honest I'm frankly afraid of even engaging most sponsors on this forum for fear of retribution from the mods even if their offerings are questionable at best (looking at you prop forum). I dunno if that's conducive to "safe and fun" discussion either.
In the wild-west days of the Internet, there were no sponsors for forums. There was no "payment". The internet back then was more Buffalo Bill, man. You should know this.
