In the first half, founder and director of The Trends Research Institute, Gerald Celente, offered commentary on how the pandemic is being handled and shared various trends he sees on the horizon. He believes that hysteria over COVID-19 has been amplified by mainstream media and governors of various states, and that the illness is only threatening to a small minority of the population-- the very elderly and those with certain preexisting conditions. Because of this, he argued that businesses should not have been shut down, and

_in the economic aftermath, "we are going to go into the greatest depression the likes of which

    no one has ever seen."

_Many small businesses have closed down and won't be coming back.

_The unemployment numbers are going to be devastating, he continued, and entertainment, retail, restaurants, hotels, and airlines are being hit severely with little hope for revival in the near-term.

_As gold and silver rise in value, he foresees a move to phase out paper currency in favor of a digital one.

_He suspects that China promoted the virus so they could lock down Hong Kong, and in the wake of COVID, he's concerned that

_war may break out to distract the populace from their desperate financial circumstances.

_The current educational system is antiquated, Celente remarked, and pandemic-era online classes point to a better way of learning that's going to grow in leaps and bounds.

_Regarding the presidential election, he predicts Trump will condemn mandated lockdowns and will win swing states by blaming their governors for allowing this.
