Not sure this has been mentioned here before but I am very pleased to see that IB has finally decided to offer better charting inside its TWS app, both mobile and PC install. They are using Tradingview charts and I took a test drive on the beta and it looks and works awesome.

BIG shoutout to IB!!! Bravo. Took only 20 years to get some decent charting into TWS, but finally its here.

This is gonna be the death sentence to all the wanker charting apps that upsell real-time data, with IB and a few bucks for the real-time quote package everyone can now follow markets on real-time charts, whether stocks, futures, options, fx...and a pretty good charting package at that.

About time! I've always hated their charts.

    Really great to hear !
Now the only thing missing is a decent screener ^^

  4. Did anyone manage to get dark mode to work on the Tradingview charts in TWS? This is important to people with sensitive eyes to glare. No dark mode is a show-stopper for them.

The trading view charts in IB do not update outside regular trading hours.

I do not have an account with IB so i am not sure if this is a fix, but i know that in Tradingview you have both options, regular trading hours and extended trading hours.

Make sure extended trading hours is selected, if that option is available.

Right click and choose settings. Did not see anything for extended hours. Where is the option?

In the regular Tradingview charts it is in the bottom right, it says either ETH or RTH, you can also find the option in settings under symbol, session.

But again, that is for the regular web version of Tradingview, not sure if the same option exists in the IB version, hopefully someone who can try it can confirm.

  10. Seems like they only borrowed the interface from Tradingview, but not the data feed. Charts freeze if you try to load longer time spans and switch between granulation. This doesn't happen on TV's native platform.
