Im struggling how to figure out how to back test my Strategies. I went with trading view as I wanted something I could get back up to speed of trading. I use to be reasonably successful at paper trading so I thought this would be a similar experience. Except the software is all new to me. Can someone point me to a good free youtuber who runs TradingView comprehensive tutorials? I would humbly much appreciate help.
Pinescript is not only inaccurate, it is a horrible language. I don't understand why people use it, having proper languages that can do a back-test locally
If you want to have a go a trading, you need to learn how to use Google advanced search and be more independent. If you want to use backtest with computerized strategies, buy Amibroker. If you want to trade for living, then do manual backtests and use Excel or Edgewonk for stats / journal. (Scrolling charts or "Bar Replay" on TradingView is good enough for backtesting.)
