Hi all, Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease a couple of years ago. It's tougher to type (and trade!) because my left hand tremor is bad. Any suggestions? At least my right hand is fine so I can use the mouse to trade. I worry about it progressing. My wife and daughter are supportive but I don't want to burden them. If any of you have experience with this, or just ideas to share I'd sincerely appreciate your thoughts and advice. It's a challenge!
Check out the Amen Clinics, they have all kinds of therapies, programs and ideas on how to deal with brain related illness
Deep Brain Stimulation is something that has been successfully used to get rid of (most) of the tremors. However it isn't suitable for everyone, so as Daal suggested, get in touch with a neurologist, they will know what to do.
Hey Ken, Have the clinic or doctor assigned an "occupational therapist" for you...preferably one that has worked with someone that works from home ? What about your insurance company (disability insurance)...a good company that will be there for you for any loss of income ? wrbtrader
Hi Ken, I’ve used this forum (for other illnesses) in the past and can honestly testify that I have gotten excellent help here. I put the link for parkinsons below, but they have a huge forum for a wide range of physical problems. https://www.curezone.org/forums/f3.asp?f=16
They make oversized keyboards. Not sure if that will help you or not. https://www.google.com/search?q=Par...ms-tmobile-us&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8
Try a voice interface? Not sure how well it would work for you, but they've gotten lots better in last few years. Here's something I found: https://markets.businessinsider.com...ctivated-investing-on-amazon-alexa-1027649458
Thanks everyone -- great ideas, I appreciate it. I use dragon dictate software to write articles, I'll look at this too. I post here usually using my cell phone since it's got auto-fill suggested words. Eventually I'll have to hire someone to trade for me as I make alert calls etc. Thx for the helpful tips!
