Are there any published statistics or research articles about the relative market share of various trading platforms? E.g. TradeStation vs. MultiCharts vs. eSignal vs. Metastock vs. MetaTrader 4/5 vs. others? Is there a clear market leader, or is this market extremely fragmented? Thanks!
Which category, Retail, Institutional? Which asset class, Equities, Derivatives, Fixed Income/Rates... You should get the idea now that it is extremely fragmented. Add on top of it the regional differences and local providers, Japan, Mainland China, Russia etc...
Thanks for the prompt reply. I am aware of all the different markets, constituencies and geographies. Let me clarify the context and the parameters. The asset classes of interest are mainly equities, options, indexes, and index futures, which also implies ETFs. The geographies of interest are North America and East Asia. The user categories are primarily experienced technical retail and small/medium prop day and swing traders.
