I am still new to this oil business and mostly traded tech stocks. With wti going negative it is hard not to pay attention and i smell blood. But i dont know go into trading oil without knowing. Getting some basic info on industry: https://www.fool.com/investing/investor-guide-to-upstream-oil-gas-sector.aspx Based on so far, (still reading above and some other), biggest shorting opportunity it seems to focus on companies that are primarily on exploration and production (aka upstream). Since those companies are in trouble as storage has become problem. Can you name those companies that are likely to be affected by this?
You would be playing the sentiment of people that believe oil is in a negative spiral. Oil is not in a negative spiral. It's just not yet adapted to the the falling demand. But there is one thing with oil... When the producer agree to adapt, and they will, price will go up to around 50 dollars again. I would not short anything about oil for the long term...
There are so many. Large corps like CVX,XOM,RDS,PXD have upstream exposure but may hold this downturn. APC,CLR,COG,CXO,DVN,ERN to name a few. Use caution and information in a public forum cannot be a good investment decision. Do your own research.

Clarification: The futures contract representing WTI for May 2020 delivery went negative. This is a major distinction that must be mentioned when discussing what is going on in the oil markets right now.
