Anyone know why TradeZero (web version) grays out the Stop Price field? I find that weird it is disabled. What does yours show you? Screenshot attached. I wonder if this is because the market is currently closed, however it should allow me to set a stop price for orders with Time in force as DAY, regardless of when I place the order right?
1 post? Welcome to ET. I don't use tradezero, but just out of curiosity, does it allow you enter a price if you change the order type to market? There is a TZ rep who is on here occasionally. I'm sure he'll see this and will be able to help.
I checked on another platform. The order could be entered. Maybe it is a house rule. Maybe it is weekend web site maintenance
Probably house rules. I tried in my prop account just out of curiosity, and it wouldn't let me send any orders at all. Just got an error message. But prop is different from retail.
Oh, for crying out loud. I thought he was trying to send a stop-limit order for some reason. I've only been at this for 25 years. Maybe another 5, and I'll be able to give advice on basic order entry. But even though he has GTC set on his platform, he wanted to send a DAY order according to his original post. If I've learned anything in 25 years, you can't send a DAY order on a Saturday.
Maybe after 25 years it is time to revise your thinking. Times have changed. It depends on the platform. You can send a day order on Saturday but it won't be activated until 9:30 Am Monday morning.
Have you tried setting the Time of force to GTC? It works on tradezero but I can't say anything for other brokerages.
