Tradestation Instability and Glitches

  1. I use TS currently for charting and monitoring the markets visually. Being familiar with the software from years ago, it makes sense to use it as I can easily set up workspaces in highly customized ways.

Back in the day whenever I had issues with (severe) data lag & random glitches, they would always turn it around on me and blame my hardware, or connection. Infuriating arrogance

I am experiencing many extremely annoying glitches, data lag during heavy markets, and it wouldn't be a normal day without at least one complete crash. Another particular annoyance is the option chain window arbitrarily displaying "you are not connected to the internet or have exceeded symbol limit", which is clearly unacceptable.

I'm running it on a dedicated high performance computer 6 months old, connection is cable and just fine, and I know if I called they would look to blame my computer as inadequate & connection as too slow (even though it is the fastest technology around). I did actually call to try to sort random bizarre glitches, but they simply had no answers.

Does anybody share my frustrations? Need to make a decision to move on or put up with shortcomings as the best available for my needs.

I have one of my futures accounts with them. I have had no problem with the data or the executions... but the markets have not been heavy since I have been trading with them.

  3. ^ No crashes?

nope not while I have been trading. I have it up about 70 percent of market hours.
I no longer trade full time... but when I am in the office I probably trade 6 to 20 contracts a day.

  5. I switched back to version 9.0 because some of the forced updates they did to 9.1 made it worse. My scanner was the first thing that stopped working, and I would get a crash every few months that made me have to remove and reinstall it. I got tired of rebuilding charts so just went back to 9.0, which has been the best so far (still not perfect).
