My computer was shut down improperly and I am getting the messge "unknown error message code file name: mwrkarea.wrk" I got around it by renaming that file, however now all my work is gone - strategies etc I still have the orig mwrkarea file that is corrupted, but I can't load it. Any way to get them back? Is there some place TS keeps those files? Thanks, Matt
Don't use TS, so don't know the answers to these questions myself, but ... 1. Are the TS files kept in your Documents folder (assuming you are using some version of Windows)? If "yes", then 2. Do you do a regular backup of your Documents folder? If "yes", then 3. Can you restore an uncorrupted recent version of the file from a backup of your Documents folder? Good luck!
Why are you wasting your time with someone who fiddles around with system files? He deserves it. If he were a legitimate TS user he would have contacted TS support. He is either a hacker wannabe or a fool and in that case he won't udnerstand anything you say to him.
Thanks for the help abattia... My lesson was learned and I've started backing up the My work folder daily - like I always say in my 5 years of trading - it's better to learn the lesson earlier then later. There is no solution - only backup and reinstall. I think that's poor design on TS part to not keep user code separate from it's working program.
