This is from another less exposed thread but I believe it deserves better attention. We all know of some of the dubious tactics of some of our members but it sure is fun when it comes time to expose them.
Note the dates. My favorite is his 2nd comment directed at elocal ....

i am trading 7different systems at ib. like them because they are cheap. slippage sucks though. I am thinking about going with efloortrade. the trades would be automated for all 7 of my systems and i can watch them ALL from one screen. Wouldn't it be worth the extra $$$? seems like less room for error....ANy comments appreciated

    Re: eFloorTrade vs. IB
I have been trading with eFloorTrade for a while. Even though their prices are a little higher, the service I have received has made it worth it. I have not been able to compare to eLocal though.

You can try automated execution at efloortrade. One of my friends is using it and said it's good.

I still believe what I was first told about IB. That is that they are making money on the order flow. If your fills are 1 tick worse than they otherwise would be, your commission is now $17.30. That's a big difference.

I use eFloorTrade and have been pretty happy with their service. Not the cheapest but worth the extra in my opinion.

eFloorTrade wrote to that api. That is exactly what their product is. I have seen versions of tradestation for sell on ebay and other places outside of the US. It is my understanding that anyone in the US has to open an account with tradestation and pay $795 for the product. Maybe someone from eFloorTrade would be able to help you a little more.

Funny things is EFT is sponsoring this forum.

  4. uh...def - who cares??

it's a little weird if IB is going to make cases against their critics. i mean, i bitch about IB all the time when they do something that i strongly disagree with (or when the reps are belligerent - and where the hell do you find those guys anyway? from the post office??) :D but i also try to be honest about their strengths and support the product when someone makes a criticism that i don't agree with.

so let's not get started on this sort of thing, and instead kill the thread before you freak more people out. (i'm a bit freaked out, esp since many posters on this board like IB and try to promote them, like me...sometimes). it's fine if customers want to quibble with each other, but when IB employees get on here and shake down their critics (whether their posts are true or not) it may be crossing the line.

bungrider, this board has always policed itself for the most part. If we didn't expose the trolls and shills then every vendor will create usernames and pump their own products.

Besides, what is worse, a vendor shill or another vendor pointing out a clear violation of ET netiquette? If you support vendor shills, then you would also support Def creating a new login just to report on the vendor shills. It's an endless cycle. So when you see violation of ET netiquette, especially from a vendor, then it's time to call them on it.

Def is completely right. Spamming is one thing, all out duplicity is another. No place for it in life, or on this board.

Only those who actually care about the quality of this board. Join a public, unmoderated Yahoo mailing list and see how much spam and vendor pumping you get on it. Look at Usenet or any of the MSN groups and see how much crap is there. The signal-to-noise ratio around here has already dropped significantly, why make it worse by inaction?

I care when the statements are false, inaccurate and unfounded. I am not making a case against a critic. He is not a client and is using dubious tactics to criticize others. It's unethical and IMO worth exposing.

  10. You suck! You're the single biggest reason this board has gone down hill as of late. blah blah asshole!
