Curious to know where people stand. Somewhat related, do people generally agree or disagree that good trading systems can be applied regardless of timeframe?
Each trade will be profitable in a different category of timeframe, depending on circumstances and character of the thing traded. Profits on the day of a company earnings conference call, will be in a matter of minutes or hours. Profits on a penny stock will be in a matter of months or weeks.
My largest profit from a trade came from Long-term trend following using Turtle. I held a Soybean position for 4-5 months and did well. But I do better trading intraday Index Futures (NQ) swings and trend. Each profits are smaller but with the frequent trades, I out profit within the time span.
