Trade date or "T+3."

    Is the settlement date always at market close?

    Example, I bought a stock on Friday 9:30 AM. Then I have up to Wednesday 4pm to settle the funds? Is this correct?

    You would have to deposit funds by close of business Wed. Your broker of course may put additional limitations in place.
