    • Total Debit $2,370
    • Total Credit $5,905
    • Total P/L $3,535 (+149%) Commissions not included.
    MY OBSERVATIONS
    • Debit spreads? The results shows why I don't like debit spreads. The losing positions would still have lost money, but the winning positions would not have provided the results they did.
    • Strangles? I didn't keep track of the opposing options suitable for a strangle, but I'm certain none of the positions moved strongly enough against me to make up for the additional $2,370 strangles would have cost.
    • Option greeks? Irrelevant .... The underlying asset either moves or it doesn't. All the option greek theory in the World will not help.
    • "Eat like a mouse, shit like an elephant" - We have all seen that posted to ET to describe credit spreads or short options, one trade can wipe out many profitable trades. In my case I was "Shitting like a mouse, eating like an elephant". 1 trade in 20 can make all the difference.
    • An ET trading journal is a good way to get a feel for the trades. But it can be a distraction and time consuming posting updates and replying to posts.

    :)

  2. Which of those trades were debit spreads?

Regarding the Greeks: they sure matter before expiry. If you're holding to expiry and don't get assigned in the meantime, then OK, ignore them.

None of the trades were debit spreads. I gave up on debit spreads after I had one trade in which the underlining shot way past the short strike.

I wouldn't call entering $100 trades eating like an elephant. You may want to start an advisory service, but thinking what you have here is a viable option method for a portfolio is ridiculous. Using your analogy I would say that you ate like a mouse, and your mouse ended up getting diarrhea shitting out mostly bad trades.:)

  6. Ha. Seriously? His one "trade" that cashed in big time was fake?

    Tell me you're joking.

No, he actually got that one right. It was under his previous handle (forexforex) in which he changed the call to a put within the 30-minute edit window.

    Lol @ (+149%)
Typical result-inflater using return on premium paid/minimum margin. If it was return on account your account would've been wiped very early with so many losses.
