A "supermoon" is a full moon that appears larger because it's at perigee, the closest point of its orbit with Earth. Tomorrow, we get one of the most spectacular astronomical events that you can witness with your bare eyes, a total eclipse of a supermoon. Stay up with your kids to see it. If you can't watch it, NASA is providing live coverage: http://www.nasa.gov/topics/solarsys...s/live-feed-of-sundays-supermoon-eclipse.html
Countdown: The supermoon eclipse will last 1 hour and 11 minutes, and will be visible to North and South America, Europe, Africa, and parts of West Asia and the eastern Pacific, according to NASA. Weather permitting, the supermoon will be visible after nightfall, and the eclipse will cast it into shadow beginning at 8:11 p.m. ET. The total eclipse starts at 10:11 p.m. ET, peaking at 10:47 p.m. ET.
Probably there are more than just Mormons worrying about the blood moons but only Mormons are saying anything.. The Harbinger was a bestseller last year. It talks about the blood moons and all sorts of stuff. I think something awful was supposed to happen Sept 13 and/or 26. I must have missed it but then it's said that it could happen anytime up to the New Year... I find these predictions of the end of the world to be a tad demotivating. I mean why try so hard if it's all for nothing?
