TOS disappears

    Very strange.... Loaded TOS as usual from the icon on the desktop and... Nothing. Tried again, tried restart but... Still nothing. The app has literally disappeared and all is left are the associated files relating to the account.

    I had to download the desktop app again! The logo color is a different hue of green, like blue green (a transition to the Schwab blue?) although, as I write this, the app seems to have frozen on loading...

    Right click the icon, then "run as administrator"

    TOS is complete trash. I'm surprised
    people still use it after the implosion
    a few years ago with frozen screen
    issues.

    There are much better platforms Vic.

    There is besides the standalone desktop application also a Web version of TOS.
     
  7. Charles schwab acquired Ameritrade. if you not a Ameritrade clients You are no longer able to use TOS.

    He uses it everyday. The problem, if he ever logs back on and reads it, is what I said. The platform is Windows based and they did something with an update (MSFT did) that makes that particular desktop Icon, and the actual .exe file inside the directory... not work. It has something to do with msft webview or something. It doesn't recognize current user as an admin. But only for the engine in TOS. Update Windows and it should work for him.

    At the bottom of the login, click on the cog wheel and switch from Schwab to TD Ameritrade in the Account dropdown box.

    Trying to run it as administrator but the app is stuck on loading "installing updates" regardless.

    Updated: I did a Windows update, deleted the old TOS files and download the app again. After about 15 mn it loaded properly!
