One of Donald Trump’s most trusted executives stood before a judge on Thursday and pleaded guilty to 15 felonies, admitting that he conspired with Mr. Trump’s company to carry out a scheme to avoid paying taxes on lavish perks — even while refusing to implicate the former president himself,” the New York Times reports.

“As part of the plea deal with the Manhattan district attorney’s office, the executive, Allen Weisselberg, is required to testify at the company’s trial if prosecutors choose to call on him, and to admit his role in conspiring with Mr. Trump’s company to carry out the tax scheme. That testimony could tilt the scales against the company, the Trump Organization, as it prepares for an October trial related to the same accusations.”

“Under the terms of the plea deal, Mr. Weisselberg is expected to receive a five-month jail term, and with time credited for good behavior, he is likely to serve about 100 days. Mr. Weisselberg, who was facing up to 15 years in prison, must also pay nearly $2 million in taxes.”

Flat tax and abolish the IRS. The middle class is willing to take the hit, if it truly means the end of the IRS and political persecution.

  3. Judge warns Allen Weisselberg: Testify 'truthfully' against Trump Org or go to jail for 15 years

Trump Organization Chief Financial Officer Allen Weisselberg was warned by a judge on Thursday that he could face years in prison if he fails to cooperate and testify truthfully against his employer.

Weisselberg admitted guilt in a plea deal that would see him sentenced to six months in jail, although he is only expected to serve three months.

But at a hearing on Thursday, Weisselberg learned that failing to cooperate could result in 15 years of jail time. Under the deal, the CFO would have to testify in a trial against former President Donald Trump's company.

Prosecutor Joshua Adam Steinglass told the court that his office would seek significant prison time if Weisselberg violates the terms of the plea agreement.

District Judge Juan Merchan advised Weisselberg that he could spend between five and 15 years in prison.

“If you fail to testify truthfully at the upcoming trial of the Trump Organization,” Merchan said, “I would then not be bound by my sentence promise.”

    Flynn
    Bannon
    Weisselberg
    Manafort
    Stone
    Cohen

Who else? Giuliani looks like he is on his way.

I disagree. If there was a flat-tax, individuals would KNOW their obligation every year. They would KNOW how much they have to sock away. It would provide much less confusion during tax time, and things would go so smoothly. The government would KNOW ahead of time, through estimates, what their receivables would be, so they can then plan budgets accordingly around them.

No more loopholes, no more skulduggery. Neat, simple, concise.

Nope, and here is where we may find common ground...The rich cannot use loopholes. None of us can. Flat-tax on net income, period, across all tiers of income levels. You make 1 buck, you pay 15 cents. You make ten billion, you pay 1.5 billion. (If the rate was 15%) DONE! THAT'S IT.

No, that is WRONG! You are just shitting on the rich with no compromise! 60% tax on 10 billion? WTF!

Flat tax it dude! Then everyone knows what they will owe. It would save the government a fuckton of money come tax time, because forms could be leaner!
