Top Step Trader

Discussion in 'Prop Firms' started by Scalperten, Nov 5, 2016.

  1. Hello again. Anybody have any experience with top step trader trading combine? What should I expect? I am relatively profitable using the lightspeed trading demo! Also what are there commission costs? They don't seem to disclose them on the website. I am going to try to become a funded trader and trade through them. Also what should I expect in the funded trader preparation? I know these seem like a lot of questions but I really want to be successful and get hired!

Elitetrader archives have several threads on it....

  3. If you become successful, you don't consider getting hired. Why share your holy grail with others? that's why high frequency firms keep their strategies behind the curtain. You badly want to get hired when you are not successful

It's ALL on their website , just search more.

  5. As long as I'm allowed to scalp with them I know I'll be successful. I was just looking for some more info on the combine, commission or any rules they might have.

  6. I got hired for trader 2b but they have a trial period of 500 trades $1,000 profit at .003 per share commission. Meaning you have to hold each trade for at least 5 cents in order to pass. Given you don't mess up and have losses on a trade. So I was wondering how top step compares to this deal.

  8. Good on you :) and good luck!
Just note that high frequency traders are the evolution of scalpers.
    Scalpers can be called speculators.
Speculators make profit by taking the advantage of arbitrage pricing.
So unless you employ similar strategies as them, there will be no chance for you.

Remember, Casino let people win temporary.

If you have enough capital then I encourage you to make investment in equity markets.
It will give you better opportunities to make money.
At the moment, there is no room for you in derivative market.

Loads of people here have experience with TST.

    Some successful, some unsuccessful.

This is the thread you need: https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/topsteptrader.275976/

As you see, there's 259 pages of it (so far).

Unfortunately, there's also an extraordinary amount of hostility and prejudice toward TST in this forum, and a significant proportion of the "information" offered about them is inaccurate, misleading, and/or in other ways "just plain wrong" (and some of it astonishingly so!). So much so, that TST used to post in that thread and interact with the forum's members about their service, but seem now to have abandoned it as a bad job (and I don't blame them) and are doing that in another forum - where there's a long thread, many successfully funded traders, plenty of videos, and so on.

    Good luck with it, anyway.

They do not have any minimum target size. The rules are pretty clear.
