She is also accused of accepting interviews with foreign media outlets and "maliciously spreading" information about the virus in Wuhan. A sentence of four to five years was recommended. 'Alarming sentence' In protest against her arrest, Ms Zhang has gone on a hunger strike and is said to be in very poor health. Zhang Keke, who is also a lawyer for Ms Zhang, said in a statement that when he visited her in early December she had told him she was being force-fed via a feeding tube. He also said she was suffering from headaches, dizziness and stomach pain. "Restrained 24 hours a day, she needs assistance going to the bathroom, and she tosses and turns in her sleep," the lawyer said. "She feels psychologically exhausted, like every day is a torment." The Chinese government is very determined to silence her and intimidate other citizens who tried to expose what happened in Wuhan," he told the BBC. "I'm concerned about the fate of other detained citizens who also reported news about the pandemic." Several other citizen journalists who reported from Wuhan - Li Zehua, Chen Qiushi and Fang Bin - went missing earlier this year. Well not quite though their super soldier project is an indication they are on the offensive if its real. I could use some of that for house painting today. I am pro globalisation in large part, I believe it has brought peace to the world. But there is the but, as with domestic services where I choose to use this or that service, its well nigh impossible for me to vote with my wallet on small products. Living in a developing country I would like to support domestic makers but this does not mean I won't buy Chinese made products. I would however pay more for a product made in other nations to spread the manufacturing skills. This was well highlighted at the beginning of the pandemic with medical equipment and supplies. I know this confuses the left and right at the same time. China is now in a position where they can attack and must be forgiven, relations normalised once they have what they want. Just do it and fuck them, they need us is a very compelling argument any military can make. It is what the USA has done for decades. Yes, that happens, sometimes for legit reasons due to distributed manufacturing. A friend is a journalist and I and other friends tried to buy various things nationally or from Europe etc. for her article. I spent a fair amount of time digging into script search customisation of Amazon and could not find any country of origin field which indicates to me they don't record it intentionally. It may be my kung-fu was off that day and its there but I don't believe so.
