    Hi GUYS and Gals,

I was watching a thinkorswim youtube video" Don Kaufman on Pairs trading" where they worked thru some sim trades. I was interested in a few of the functions on their platform but when I went to follow up I found that Australian residents couldn't open accounts with them. I was hoping that someone might know of other brokers who provide the same platforms. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers John

thinkorswim was acquired by TD Ameritrade so I'm pretty sure you'll find that TD is the only firm offering the thinkorswim software platform.

HI John, I am in the same situation. I watched a good video where the trader was using the TOS Platform for pairstrading. Its got some cool features but Ameritrade are not opening accounts for Non US Citizens.

  4. Ameritrade will accept foreign accounts from certain jurisdictions. I'm in Thailand, I can't have one. If I move to Cambodia which is much more backward, I can have an account. Similarly, I can have one in Malaysia but not in Singapore. This was about a year ago when I last checked and emailed them.

I'm sure there are good reasons for this, but I can't see them and Ameritrade did not offer an explanation.

    Hi Robbo,
I just downloaded MT4 and will have a look at how versatile the platform is. Nothing ventured nothing gained, it's just a Demo account thru Forex.com so it won't cost anything if it's not a goer. Anybody who knows about this stuff is welcome to chime in. I'll let you know how it works out, time for me to learn some additional programming skills. lol

    Cheers John

Sadly Australia is also on their hit list. I was reading a profile on someone from Thialand a while ago, wouldn't be you by any chance.

U.K is also on there hit list. I think it would have been a lot better if Ameritrade had never bought TOS. Thats crazy that u can open an account in Malaysia but not Singapore.

Let me know how you get on with MT4. I am going to search for other software to use.

It's almost like some kind of inverse FATCA relationship. That being said, Thailand falls into the same group as Malaysia and Cambodia as far as agreements go.

    Hi Guys,
What were you looking to get from Ameritrade.
