    Is thinkorswim available for Canadians?
Are commissions different than what they charge in US?

Think or swim is available from TD Canada Trust bank as their platform from my understanding. And the fees are totally different. Not free and not cheap last I checked

They have been coming for years... haven't made it though
Commission structure through TDA is awful

    Canadian & U.S. Stocks
    $7.00 flat

    Canadian & U.S. Options
    $7.00 + $1.25 per contract

if you make over 150 trades/qtr

  4. Thinkorswim is available in Canada, I've been using it for quite a few years. I must be grandfathered in.....my commissions are $5 per trade. Not great but I use the platform more for its charting capabilities as it's about a million times better than IB.

You obviously have little experience. IB's charts are shit...they're slow...lack lots of features and indicators.

I dont mind the lack of features and indicators personally. For me the frustrations is in their speed and slow loading.

Completely agree. I have no idea why the platform doesn't store data after its already downloaded. Working with Sierra Charts in comparison is a breeze, even though I do use the IB data.

Obviously it means i have little experience LOL. do you have a side by side comparision? What features make the charts better? how fast does the data update on TWS vs IB?

That's bad. I wonder whether you could at least use the TOS paper account without funding it. Or maybe fund it and do one trade per quarter or so.
