I'm seeking a mentor, to guide me in futures trading. I win some, but I lose big too. I feel like I'm making intelligent trades, but I can't deny, retardation takes over too often. I need a mentor. If you're willing to mentor me 1 on 1 in futures trading, indices, gold, oil, over the internet, I'm willing to learn. For free.

Would you say you like to make your trade decisions more on intuition and market feel or more by way of tested setups and entry / exit triggers?

  4. Yeah, but to be fair when someone does charge, than people question why do they need to charge money teaching, if they are such a great trader. Than someone will say because they want to get paid for their time. Than someone else will say, but the money they are making is so inconsequential to what they can make if they are at good trading... why charge it.

Point is people trade and teach for a multitude of reasons, just because someone does or doesn't charge isn't really any direct relation to the quality someone is getting. There's legit arguments on both sides of it, and the reason there both are legit is again because people trade and teach for a multitude of reasons.

    Just my perspective though.

My question, why do newbs always look for .... free. Free data, free brokerage .... free mentorship.

And only answer I can come up with is because they don't have the money it takes to trade yet they want to learn how to trade. Cart before the horse.

Definitely the first. I'm having a lot of trouble with how much money I'm supposed to be making in a certain time frame, and especially the expectation that I should be making at least this much a day or something, really gets in the way of intelligent trading.

Well to be honest, I have no idea where to look. I'm more than willing to pay for guidance.

  9. The kind of guidance you're looking for is fairly difficult to find whether you pay for it or not. You basically need someone to show you how to run a profitable week. Trade with you and explain how not to fall into certain traps like chasing and etc. Help you build that mindset and willpower to sit and wait for the proper trade and than attack it. Showing you that if they can do it, you can do it to, if you truly want to succeed. That's just some of the mentality part, not even touching on best style of trading for yourself, technicalities / edges and etc.

What I could use is consulting. An experienced trader who can tell me my trade is not a good trade. A trader, who can tell me, that even though, the market is crashing, that shorting, might not be the best idea, at the moment.
