While it was looking like the GOP might have 56 or so Senators at first, it’s now looking more and more like it might remain at 52 thanks to every single swing state with a Senate race (PA, MI, WI, NV, AZ). Trump ran far ahead of all those candidates. Other than Kari Lake, the candidates didn’t come across as particularly poor so this is kind of surprising and either speaks to how good Trump is as a candidate, how bad Harris is as a candidate, how bad Biden is as a POTUS, or some combination of these three. It’s worth noting that if the Dems win these seats then there will only be 3 GOP swing state senators (Ron Johnson of WI and the 2 from NC which has been the least swingy as it is the only one of the seven to vote for Trump in all three elections). It’s also worth noting that there are still 3 GOP senators that voted to impeach Trump (Murkowski, Collins, and Cassidy) giving the Senate an anti-Trump majority and one could expect they will hold his appointments to some standards. Right now the only GOP candidate ahead in the swing state races is McCormick, but the Casey campaign is publicly confident based on where they believe the uncounted votes are, we shall see.
Well Casey has lost.Biden polled poorly in PA,Harris lost in PA,Casey lost in PA.I bet Fettermen is regretting switching from Bernie Sanders Democrat to Joe Biden Democrat,he will lose re election imo. The best path forward for Democrats imo is what you mentioned in the other thread, focus on progressive economic policies while leaving the the cultural, identity and woke politics behind.Thats a problem for Democrats though as their mega donors don't want progressive economic policies but Harris's billion dollar + war chest proves voters are more important than money.
