Some like taking about V shaped recoveries in equities and to be clear the markets haven't even fallen enough yet to welcome the V shaped recovery. Yes there have been some small V shapes from time to time that has pushed equities to new historic highs, but I think the highs are in, especially the tech driven nasdaq as over....debt is skyrocketing. Earnings from the major tech stocks were mediocre at best, unemployment is ticking up and inflation as the fed so desperately wants at 2% (which is never going to come), is causing the fed to really take its time on these rate cuts which markets so desperately want.... We will see markets rally, but hoping for a V shaped rally won't happen until the markets are down substantially. Don't be fooled by these tiny V shaped rallies, they will be an opportunity to sell every time from this point on....and if I'm wrong then by that point the fed will have come and jolted the markets to.new highs because as they say the fed doesn't pay any attention to the stock market ....(yea right !!!)
There could be a big V rally back to ATH after the election which is now less than 2 months away. There could even be a bottom in October, with the new uptrend starting a few weeks before the election. If the market sells off really hard ahead of the Fed meeting in 10 days that could be the bottom for the rest of the year.
it already sold off. My guess would be bounce on a rate cut and then generational nuke into elections
I think a V shaped recovery when they announce the release of Sora to the public....Timing wise, the late October/early November earings season seems about right. The November Fed meeting has always been bullish since I've been trading. The bull market has plenty of years left. Generative AI with VR headsets/glasses is going to be the next phase.
one would have to look at the mega 7 in detail, apple new phone may not sell well particularly in china when haiwei just introduced a 3 fold design. nvda blackwell is defective and no one wants h chips. tsla sales is flat. other 4 consumers are not spending much on ads. rest 493 stocks can’t pull the weight.
"Prediction is hard. Especially about the future." But what does it matter? We can ignore the future. All we have to do is put on our VR headsets when we wake in the morning, and enjoy the rest of the day on the French Riviera.
Spoken like a true permabear. "Earnings were mediocre at best" these companies make more in a quarter than some countries' GDP but yeah they were mediocre. Your ludicrous comparisons are why permabears lose money.
Oh it absolutely will V. Another incredible V today. They can never keep this market down for long. 2 days later and Friday's move almost already cancelled out.
