  1. I'm surprised by the naivete of this board in believing the Fed will cut rates next week. Maybe this board is a good contrary indicator because there will be no fed rate cut in September!

  2. tell us why?

considering the markets are pricing in a "guaranteed" cut of at least 25 bps, if it doesn't happen, look out below. I take it you feel they'll cut the discount rate?

  4. Take a look at FF futures.

  5. Oct Fed Funds at 95.18....about 50% chance of a 50BP cut...25 is priced in...

  6. Yes I know. And apparently alot of people are setting themselves up for major disappointment.

The dollar is already too weak, and the Fed knows crashing the dollar with a rate cut is not in the best interest of the USA.

  7. i don't think thy will cut either .they not that stupid dollar are to weak .and what is going to change if they cut .25 the big NOTHING.instead of cutting they should raise by .25 and when the market tanks to retest recent lows it will bounce from there.

  8. They will definitely cut. It won't do much good, but a cut is as close to a sure thing as you can get.

  9. if they do it will only be 25 basis points and the market will sell off. i think the markets dead either way.i just do not see them doing 50.
