Amazing exchange between Lindsey Graham and Barr on this exact topic at Barr's confirmation hearings. Both were in agreement the president instructing a witness to lie to Congress is a serious crime. Shortly thereafter, lo and behold, Trump is directly implicated in the exact crime Barr and Graham made unambiguous at a Senate confirmation hearing. Individual number 1 is not having the best of weeks. https://www.buzzfeednews.com/articl...scow-tower-mueller-investigation?ref=hpsplash
In my opinion, if true, the news that Trump directed Cohen to lie to Congress about the Russian hotel deal communications is the most damning evidence so far that could cause Trump legal troubles or impeachment. The question is if the assertions about Cohen being directed to lie found in the media are true or not. We have seen a cycle of speculation in the media pushing assertions that turn out not be true in regards to Trump.
Haven't followed this fake news of the day, but who we got for a witness saying Trump ordered Cohen to lie to Congress? Oh, I see. Cohen, a guy who has been convicted of lying to Congress or plead to it. One of the biggest dangers to democracy is this continuing bit about launching investigations just because some newspaper reported something. As we found out in the ongoing fbi scandal, half the time it is just the swamp making up shit and feeding it to the newspaper and then relying on their report to launch an official investigation. Then when the defendant tries to challenge it the governnment stonewalls the release of documents and the reporters all hide behind the first amendment. Dont need to have congress doing that too. Not saying that cases cannot be properly developed. Just sayin this horseshiite of witchhunting people based on newspapers reports is pretty KGB-esque. Or should I say FBI-esque now?
The issue here is that the claim that Trump ordered Cohen to lie to Congress is supposedly being sourced from two "anonymous federal law enforcement officials". Usually in the past these type of poorly sourced media assertions have turned out to be complete bullshiat. When the assertion is found in a written court document then the assertion becomes much more believable -- until then if is just likely another example of the media pushing complete nonsense.
Even if the fed sources are there, isnt the issue under under Mueller's jurisdiction? I thought the dems were all for just letting Mueller do his job.
I said months ago that Trump should have fired Sessions, Rosenstein and Mueller and dared the congress to impeach him. Letting this sore fester for years has been a huge mistake. Sooner or later Trump is going to have to deal with impeachment. That has been the plan of the Deep State and their minions in the media all along. It's a lot better to choose the time and place of the battle rather than letting them set you up.
This is ridiculous considering the right’s past with truly fake news from uranium one to Benghazi. Trey Gowdy was the single worst investigator in congressional history solely because he was provoked by right wing news. Now the real news is doing its job and digging into the serious matters that involve an already known criminal president, aka Individual 1, and you want to cry like a little baby about journalistic standards. You’re a RT post sharing, Washington examiner reading, hannitty watching crybaby.
And that there is corroborating evidence and other witnesses as obviously Cohen's word only means nothing.
