To me this seems pretty easy. The 90% of people who are not old or do not have serious medical conditions go back to work and live their lives. The economy opens back up, the bars and restaurants up, everything opens up. The 10% of people who this poses a risk to, stay put and limit contact with anyone. They stay home and use extreme precautions.

Then the 90% of people will spread it around, they will get the sniffles for a few days, then recover and they will be immune. It will last a month or two, then it will be a done deal. Its that simple.

This is what is going to happen to you. Tom Hanks looks like he has a hangover, and his wife has a big shit eating grin on her face. Does she look like someone who is about to die?

Two weeks later, it will be like this.

    Ohhh the horror!

  2. The wife looks like Tom gave her "some at-home treatment" during their lockdown.

    Wayyy to go Tom.

Already in development is an antibody test, at home 15 minutes, very high accuracy. Will show you if you’re at risk or have some immunity to Covid-19. Some discussion there’s many many more asymptotic undocumented cases than we know.

    UK will distribute millions.

Keep up social distancing until we can get these out. Take the test, if you’ve had it, all's clear. If not you know to protect yourself. Keep the safe space around those vulnerable. Treatment options are coming online for those who fall ill.

We can slowly climb out of the hole.

We’ll have a vaccine by fall.

  4. The other thing- speaking of antibodies- is that we are learning more about how those who recover very rapidly seem to be able to do it.

We need a vaccine which will work by interfering with the virus and its bonding to receptors or whatever. And then there are treatment plans in the works to distill antibodies from the plasma of patients who recovered, so on and so forth.

But another area of investigation is looking at how people who recover the fastest seem to be able to do it. In other words, you need certain antibodies to recover but they can't be covid specific antibodies because you don't have them, so how are you recovering? So obviously, the body is recruiting its other antibodies and working with them as best it can, and the question becomes, "okay, so which one of those seem to be doing the most work." The punchline seems to be that it is the very common immunoglobulin G antibody. Those who recover rapidly seem to be able to spike or recruit their ing-G antibodies and use them against the virus. It is not obviously corona specific but seems to be what is the biggest help in your existing toolbox.

So there are some opportunities there in that area to learn more about how to put some duct tape and bondo on the virus until a vacciine is developed.

You know the binary thinkers are looking for a silver bullet but treatment for most diseases is multifactorial. If hyrdroxychloroquine is not a magic bullet but it helps 20% then go for it and take that 20% benefit. If adding azythromyocin helps another 10%, take it, if infusing some immunoglobulin G antibodies helps 10%, take it, and so on and so forth.

That is a stupid and unfunny campaign. Damned heathens, closed on Sunday, the day of rest for God.

God never said "Hey, I'm not working on Sunday, the 7th day of the universal creation." He just said, "I am le' tired". He kept working, and made Easter Bunnies, because he, being omniscient, knew his kid would rise again on Easter Sunday. So Chick-Fil-A should stop killing Jews.

    Update:
    March 28 (GMT)
    • 19185 new cases and 515 new deaths in the United States
New York Governor Cuomo Daily Briefing:
      • Everything we do now (procure ventilators etc) is in preparation for possible apex (when curve hits the highest point)
      • Apex in New York is estimated in 14-21 days from now
      • We'll keep COVID-19 patients separated from the other patients in hospitals
      • We can now test for antibodies to determine whether a person had COVID-19. This is a blood test
      • 172 new ICU admission in the last day, vs. 374 in the preceding day, may indicate a decline in the growth rate
      • 155,934 people tested in New York State
      • We need a faster testing process. Can't wait 5 days as it is now. Other countries now also have home tests. We should do the same
    March 27 (GMT)
    • [IMG] 18691 new cases and 401 new deaths in the United States

NEW YORK (from New York Governor Cuomo daily briefing):
      • Apex of hospital need could be in 21 days from now in New York
      • All hospitals need to increase capacity by 50%, some by 100%
      • Need a total of 140,000 hospital beds. Currently have 53,000 (an additional 87,000 hospital beds are needed)
      • Need a total of 40,000 ICU beds. Currently have 3,000, with 3,000 ventilators. An additional 37,000 ICU beds are needed
      • Will use college dormitories, hotels, nursing homes, and all possible space by converting it to hospitals if needed in April
      • 138,376 people have been tested
      • Schools will stay closed for an additional 2 weeks after April 1, to then reassess the situation and extend again if needed. 180 days requirement has been waived
      • "This is not going to be a short deployment [...] This is going to be weeks, and weeks, and weeks [...]This is a rescue mission you are on, to save lives. [...] You are living a moment in history that will change and forge character

    This is the solution:

In 80 in-patients receiving a combination of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin we noted a clinical improvement in all but one 86 year-old patient who died, and one 74 year- old patient still in intensive care unit.
A rapid fall of nasopharyngeal viral load tested by qPCR was noted, with 83% negative at Day7, and 93% at Day8. Virus cultures from patient respiratory samples were negative in 97.5% patients at Day5.
This allowed patients to rapidly de discharge from highly contagious wards with a mean length of stay of five days.
We believe other teams should urgently evaluate this cost-effective therapeutic strategy, to both avoid the spread of the disease and treat patients as soon as possible before severe respiratory irreversible complications take hold.

MI Man Credits Trump for Surviving Coronavirus, Says Whitmer 'Sentencing People to Death'

A 38-year-old Michigan man with no underlying conditions contracted coronavirus last week and was successfully treated with the drug combination being touted by President Trump.

Jim Santilli told talk radio host Steve Gruber he is “living proof” the combination of the malaria drug hydroxychloroquine and the antibiotic azithromycin works.

Santilli said he became seriously ill March 18 “with severe cardiac and respiratory issues” and was admitted to Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in metro Detroit.

According to Gruber, “Santilli said the biggest problem was waiting for test results that took four days to come back. In the meantime his condition worsened by the hour, and he thought he was going to die.”

“Santilli says he was slowly drowning and was convinced he ‘would not live until midnight.’ That’s when doctors made a decision he says changed everything,” Gruber said.

The survivor said the drug combination began to work “within a few hours.”

Santilli credited Trump for his survival.

“Donald Trump recommending that medication combination saved my life and a lot of other people’s lives,” he told Gruber.

Santilli criticized Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) for her recent threat against doctors and pharmacists, and believed it is a “terrible decision,” adding, “She is sentencing people to death.”

Whitmer sent a letter to medical professionals on March 24:

Prescribing hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine without further proof of efficacy for treating COVID-19 or with the intent to stockpile the drug may create a shortage for patients with lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, or other ailments for which chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine are proven treatments. Reports of this conduct will be evaluated and may be further investigated for administrative action. Prescribing any kind of prescription must also be associated with medical documentation showing proof of the medical necessity and medical condition for which the patient is being treated. Again, these are drugs that have not been proven scientifically or medically to treat COVID-19.

    According to Gruber:

Santilli added that he isn’t the only one that is alive because of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin either. He said the medical staff told him other patients were also responding well to the treatment and their lives are also being saved.

Gruber told Breitbart News on Friday he believes Whitmer is angling to be Joe Biden’s vice presidential nominee, and that his driving her opposition to Trump’s actions.
