The U.S. Has More Guns, But Russia Has More Murders http://www.npr.org/blogs/parallels/...u-s-has-more-guns-but-russia-has-more-murders There are fewer than 13 million firearms in circulation in Russia, compared with an estimated 300 million in the United States. That works out to about 9 guns per 100 people in Russia and closed to 100 guns per 100 people in America. The most recent homicide statistics for Russia show that there were 21,603 killings in 2009. According to the FBI, the United States had 13,636 homicides in 2009 with a population that is more than twice as large. More than 80 percent of those killings were gun-related. It's difficult to make a direct comparison of gun homicides in the two countries because Russia doesn't break down its murder statistics.
True 'dat. I read about how history changed way back in the day. Bronze swords were expensive, only upper class people had them, then cheaper steel came on the scene and it changed the whole scene.. Blacks in the South were not allowed to own guns, the KKK could ride up and take 'em out of their own home.. The Black Panthers in the '60's were more about Blacks arming up than anything else. KKK raids just wouldn't work nowadays.
Yes, a good percentage of those killings in russia are not gun related. Getting access to a firearm is near impossible for the general public. But lots of murders still go on.
Democrats request taxpayer funded Deputy to protect their "Gun Safety" meeting in Pickens County, GA On Monday, September 17, the Pickens County Democrat Party held a "Gun Safety" meeting to discuss not gun safety, but the pending bills in the General Assembly that is sure to come up in January of next year. The meeting was held in a Government Building and was therefore a "Gun Free Zone" which protects us all, right? Well, apparently not as they requested a Deputy to be present to protect them during their meeting. Looks like they must not have as much faith in their well-loved Gun Free Zones, as they want us to think....
