So the news was that the Venezuelan government closed down 11K mining computers because "energy" concerns. The turth behind the action is coming to you courtesy of Reddit:

    "Nesselde

    Venezuelan here

Reason is not really energy crysis, is just fight of powers within govt officials, long story short, all venezuelan pro crypto crap was just a masquerade to wash corruption money (oil money), they manage to steal over 23 billions usd (official sources of side A, u will read soon who they are) but estimates are around more than 100 billions usd.

They had a fight between them (all govt corrupt officials), god knows why and they got divided by 2 sides, lets say side A and side B, so side B was accused by side A of stealing money, and incarcerated them, now they going after their properties, including crypto farms

And no, side A is not better than side B, both sides stole money, just that side A was smarter than side B and made power moves to keep stealing while taking down side B, now side A has all the "power" and can freely keep their corruption business going on without sharing with side B

Btw, not so related to crypto but the US could have taken down "both sides", but biden just gave side A more power by releasing Alex Saab (google it) and pretty much letting side A get away from stealing more than 300billions from Venezuela state, good job USA."

I would like to point out that no matter what the real reason behind the ban was, crypto is fragile as shit after taking too much magnesium.
