"America has long been the incubator of many spiritual creeds going back to the Great Awakening and even earlier. Only one of them, Mormonism, has taken root and flourished as a true religion sprung from our own native ground. Today, however, we have a new faith growing from this nationâs soil: the Tea Party. Despite its secular trappings and âtaxed enough alreadyâ motto, it is a religious movement, one grounded in the traditions of American spiritual revival. This religiosity explains the Tea Partyâs political zealotry." more . . .
You could replace each instance of "Tea Party" with "Liberal Progressive" and that paper would be just as accurate. Next.
No one is excluded from participation in the Tea Party Movement. Everyone is welcomed to join in seeking to achieve the Tea Party Movement goals, which are as follows: 1. Eliminate Excessive Taxes 2. Eliminate the National Debt 3. Eliminate Deficit Spending 4. Protect Free Markets 5. Abide by the Constitution of the United States 6. Promote Civic Responsibility 7. Reduce the Overall Size of Government 8. Believe in the People 9. Avoid the Pitfalls of Politics 10. Maintain Local Independence Where's the religion part at again?
db is like Covertibility. Both are obsessed with the Tea Party because it threatens the status quo and wakes up the masses.
To make such claims, you'd have to be either an idiot or a liar with an agenda. Total crock of Leftie/Communist SHIT!!
I ran across another progressive elsewhere recently dumping on the TP. I posted their platform and asked for his objections. Which amounted to "two of their statements (2,3) are redundant"; literally. I have yet to meet anyone despising the TP that knows anything factual about them. In their ignorant defense. TP has been wrongfully bashed by the media, leftist moon bats AND the GOP.
Correctamundo! The Lefties are "winning", so to speak, on the back of freebie hand-outs.... and they don't want that to change. They can't see the downside... you know, when "you run out of other people's money".. Then what do you do?
Ironic that the left sees the Tea Party as a religious movement. I suppose that is the biggest putdown imaginable in their mind. How else would you describe their AGW hysteria? It has all the elements of a religious experience, eg a faith-based adherence to a set of beliefs that cannot be objectively confirmed. It's probably more accurate to call it a cult. True religions are based on free will, not compulsion and don't feature an obsessive beligerence against non-believers.
