inspired by @JesseJamesFinn1 one pick per day prior to the opening bell, no penny stocks please. state the trade, buy & hold, options, shorts ... This evenings pick (not knowing what Mondays open will be) is NERV last at $12.70 with a trade to sell the $5 put expiring 19 June for (last) $1.20 with an IV 407.83% https://www.barchart.com/stocks/quotes/NERV/options
IV is crazy high. Did you do some research? Maybe an FDA decision pending or important trial news ahead?
in my case for that pick yes. a good suggestion for anyone that posts their pick if they are going to actually buy/sell. the heading is a 'pick of the day', not necessarily a go do it, just one which members like/chose 'as the pick of the day' to put up for other to see that may be of interest to look at. any can include that, yes.
nope, I was looking just for high volatility, did little more than that .... followed with a wallet investor & Tip Ranks forecast. based on the 'is its a call or put volume', a trade for either buy the stock and/or a buy or sell a call or put.
I did some research. Phase III on their potential Blockbuster and main drug in pipeline (shizophrenia) is due... IV seems right then.
But i still like your pick, data may come out after expiration abd even if bad not a sure loss. I guess many did the 5/7.5 spread.
https://www.reuters.com/article/bri...enia-on-track-for-release-in-q2-idUSFWN2CL05D 5/7.5 spread might be better... Risk reward around 1:1
thanks for the feedback, yes deeper analysis could have been done, also as mentioned a spread or any other trade such as with spreads, covered calls, shorting etc never expected that I would be going into specifics or details on my pick. my OP was 'pick of the day' - simple what is your pick pre-market?. maybe my OP gave away too much stating the specific trade that I should not have posted for the reason folks look at picks & trades differently then start to do an analysis or come back with a 'why his or that or I would have done this' ..... I picked NERV from the high volatility on Barchart (it was that simple), looked at the last 12 mths price range, did not go to the news wires, or the company information or details - I did my second quick look at Walleinvestor & TipRanks that is as far as I go, then decide if I make the trade, in this case the fully costed/no margin June expiry naked $5 put for $1.20. Depending I could leave it to expiry or 'buy to close' with time decay at 50% premium drop (lock it in to take the small profit) , then move to the next trade. one trade pick at a time for me, it could be daily trade, weekly, monthly or a longer swing trade on my particular trade I chose to sell the $5 naked put. prior to Monday open for anyone interested following this thread ... post your 'pick of the day', no details required other than 'I will trade this' with a .....buy, option [type] short, spread. you could include 10% etc & out or swing/day trade, without posting back the exit point no links required, no analysis or what the media says - post the symbol
