I tried the vegetarian thing for about 2.5 months when I was in college. Didn't work for me. I started to get headaches and had trouble concentrating while studying.

Humans have been eating meat for thousands of years. It's an important staple our diets. However, I do agree that most people (Americans anyway) eat entirely too much of it, and don't seem to understand what a serving actually is.

  3. beef toxins being released, your liver was throwing off decades of accumulated poison!

  4. Mmmmm, free range and hormone free beef...YUM!

  5. i don't care if you sent them on a vacation to the Bahamas, it's STILL NASTY BEEF!

  6. more than 10 grams of saturated fat per day will kill you dead. catch up with you eventually, and kill you dead. :(

BEEF is chock full of saturated fat. doesn't matter if it's "range-fed" or "hand=fed" it will kill you.

  7. If you want to fight genetics, great. If doing so works for you, so much the better. However, evolution holds the answers. Humans, as a species, come equipped with the necessary tools required for eating / digesting certain foods - protein being among them.

Our ancesters started out as hunter / gatherers. But guess what? They weren't hunting arugula.

High levels of refined carbohydrates provides the key ingredients for morbidity and mortality. Keep the carbs low (and the total caloric intake low), and you've taken care of what an individual can control.

Also, get off your ass an exercise some. Walking does the trick for most people. It's low impact, and it burns plenty of calories. I walk 7 - 8 miles a day Monday - Friday (it takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes from start to finish), but an hour a day is really all one needs. Start slow (15 - 30 minutes) and build up over time.

Since males lose (on average) 2 pounds of lean muscle per year(after the age of 30), you might want to hit the weight room in an effort to 'maintain' or rebuild - depending on age and previous levels of excersize.

    This ain't rocket science.

    Eat less. Excersize more.

As is the case with trading, no need to overcomiplicate things.

  8. Just what "evolution" am I fighting? What evolutionary evidence shows that saturated fat is beneficial? I'd like to see you produce it right here right now.

i'm not holding my breathe ;)

On the other hand, I can show you evidence from MODERN SCIENCE, would you like to see it?

  9. which is why you don't eat it 3 times a day or even once a day. Couple times a week some red meat is perfectly fine for you, especially if you have a nice glass of Cabernet to accompany it.
