Kristi Noem incorrectly defines 'habeas corpus' in Senate hearing
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem incorrectly defined the meaning of "habeas corpus" during a Homeland Security Committee hearing.

During the hearing, Senator Maggie Hassan said the government is "actively trying to suspend" the protected constitutional right, and went on to ask Noem what it means. Noem replied with a wrong answer saying that it allows the president to remove people from the US....

    And immediately another willful violation.

US judge says deportations to South Sudan likely violate court order

BOSTON, May 20 (Reuters) - A federal judge said on Tuesday it appeared the Trump administration had violated a court order by deporting several migrants to South Sudan without ensuring they had a meaningful chance to raise any concerns they had for their safety.
U.S. District Judge Brian Murphy in Boston told a lawyer with the U.S. Department of Justice during a hastily arranged virtual hearing that the potential violation might constitute criminal contempt and he was weighing ordering a plane carrying the migrants to the African nation to turn around.

The migrants included an individual from Myanmar whose lawyer received an email on Monday from a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement official stating the agency's intent to deport his client to South Sudan.
The migrant's lawyers said they learned their client had been flown to South Sudan on Tuesday morning.
The spouse of a Vietnamese man who was also held at the Port Isabel Detention Center in Texas emailed his lawyer saying that he and 10 other individuals were believed to have been deported as well, the email filed as an exhibit showed.

The group also included nationals of Laos, Thailand, Pakistan and Mexico, the spouse said in the email. "Please help! They cannot be allowed to do this."

I have been to South Sudan and it's genuinely a dangerous place. The probability of these people getting kidnapped or killed is enormous. This is next level performative cruelty for the fascists. This is obviously their plan to try and seem extra evil.

U.S. State Department currently classifies South Sudan as a “Level 4 – Do Not Travel” country.

Juba looks better than in my day but...

That's your dementia talking again. If you decide to end it with dignity, nobody will blame you. Get a doggy ears and nose costume and reach for her purse in a restaurant if you are too meek to do yourself.

There is no excuse for what she said, she has a degree in political science and the term has been used around her hundreds of times. She was reflexively trying to gaslight and forgot she was in the Senate.

Additionally, ICE Barbie is demanding a new $50 Million dollar jet for her private use (i.e. "personal national photo op tour."). She is going to take the money out of Coast Guard funding (which is already desperately short of the needed funding to fulfill their mission).

'Priorities': Kristi Noem ripped for demanding new $50M jet while the Coast Guard struggles
