Think about the last statement in this article. There are tens of thousands of such friction in the world today that if similarly solved, would make the world far more efficient and probably more collectively happy. The one thing, no one likes their jobs automated away. It is imperative that this is a process, with retraining within the company itself away from these jobs. This is no small task since many companies treat their employees more like cattle to be corralled than people to be in business with. "...In other words, the only thing previously stopping the standardization of reconciliation processes was the unwillingness of financial institutions to collaborate. Financial institutions spend $65-80 billion on back office reconciliation every year. The employees working in back offices probably offered lots of excellent reasons why their roles couldn’t simply be standardized away...." TECH Maybe Blockchain Really Does Have Magical Powers Blockchain, the technology behind Bitcoin and other digital currencies, isn’t quite as novel or omnipotent as many have advertised it to be. That doesn’t mean, however, that it can’t do wonders in the world of finance.... https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2016-09-01/maybe-blockchain-really-does-have-magical-powers
Nationalism is the (old) new ideology today, but probably it creates more friction where non should exist. A main reason is that nationalism leads to protectionism, which in turn is used to prevent others races (tribes) from taking jobs away from people through globalism - an absolutely correct assessment when you have to put a roof over your head and feed the mouths. It plays over and over again, and we as a people never learn. This is Germany 1900's again from a nationalistic perspective. Nationalism => Protectionism => Not Globalization Giving people a UBI and removing all such frictions, e.g., 150 currencies with 150 different IRs differentials to maybe 10 currencies and maybe three interest rates worldwide, is far cheaper than the way the world is going. But no one does the accounting the right way, so the same mistakes are made repeatedly. Freakonomics. When 2+2 = 5, everything else can be shown to be true no matter how ridiculous.
