The left is already looking to 2024. Some want to see a Biden primary challenge.

No one now in office — and none of the top-tier presidential contenders from 2020 — is viewed as a serious prospect to take on Biden. Nor is there any expectation that Sanders or Sen. Elizabeth Warren, both of whom have enjoyed a significant amount of influence in the Biden administration, would primary Biden. Few seriously think Ocasio-Cortez would risk her political capital in a long-shot challenge to the president, either.

Instead, liberals believe lesser-known candidates are more likely to primary Biden if he seeks a second term, such as former Sanders campaign co-chair Nina Turner, 2020 presidential candidate Marianne Williamson or millionaire and $18-an-hour minimum wage advocate Joe Sanberg.

“Yes, but someone like Nina Turner or Marianne Williamson. Doubt anyone currently elected," said one prominent progressive when asked if someone from the left would run against Biden.

  2. No punchline here, but it is interesting the way that media- Politico definitely included- choose to include people who are obviously fringe candidates and fringe people- such as Marianne Williamson- in their analysis but leave out others who are clearly likely candidates.

Three weeks ago, the media was wall to wall abuzz with talk about Bootyboy being percieved as a likely and strong candidate in 2024. Did not see his name mentioned once in this article.

Ditto for Gavin Newsom, who is well known for having presidential aspirations and is conducting himself with that in mind. Did not see his name mentioned in this article.

Then they post two large pictures- one of Biden and the other of Marianne Williamson. That's what you do if you are supporting Biden. Show Biden looking presidential- versus his usual lost in space pictures and let the potential contenders be represented by an essential oils loon.

Why not put a picture of Booty or Newsom in there?

Might as well.Biden will definitely lose if he is the nominee.

It may depend on what they mean by "the left," as opposed to the center-left.

  5. If any of the aforementioned ones run it will be on the dem ticket and they will be Biden's primary challengers, as was the allegedly the focus of the politico article- per their headline and lead in.

Politico may go into the weeds on who the progressives are going to put up or not because that is where their head is at. Someone might be a center left and be a primary challenger. No doubt there is some demand for that too.

    Democrats are dumbasses.

Seriously, who in their right mind supports aoc, Bernie, Hillary, Kamala, Pelosi???

  7. I take shots at Pelosi and criticize her rather frequently.

If I listen to AOC, that means that I am sexually frustrated and want to date her.

    I learn something every day.

Not like Alexadria Ocasio-Cortez is such an attractive woman. Far from it. Looks like she has self-esteem issues. She looks pretty ordinary compared to the likes of Kayleigh McEnany among other beautiful women in the political sphere.
