The husband-and-wife team behind the COVID vaccine: Two years ago, Ugur Sahin founded his company BioNTech with his wife, Dr. Özlem Türeci. It was mostly focused on cancer treatments. It had never brought a product to market. Covid-19 did not yet exist. On Monday, BioNTech and Pfizer announced that a vaccine for the coronavirus developed by Dr. Sahin and his team was more than 90% effective. Meet the scientists behind the breakthrough.(The New York Times)

When it's good news they're considered Turkish. When it's bad news they're called German.

Why is that the case, considering that Turks and Turkey have bad images in the world today?

Speaking of Turkey... There was a study of Quercetin done by a Turkish doctor on 50 subjects that ended in August. Since no result has been posted, I emailed the doctor and he actually answered back. Yes, Quercetin is good as prophylactic against Covid, the study is under review. I am curious about the actual numbers.

I don't understand why it takes so long to come up with the result (they started to take Q. in March), but at least somebody did a study on a cheap supplement.
