Authored by Steven Henrich via Northernman.com... I worry about America. I ask these questions because it is hard not to worry about the state of the US or Western democracies in general these days. Governments are as hopelessly divided as their peoples, incapable of reaching consensus on complex issues. In the meantime ever more debt is required to keep the system afloat. I’ve been hanging out on this planet for a few decades now and I can honestly say I’ve never seen so much hate, vitriol, ignorance, anger and disrespect in my life. And dare I add sheer stupidness and ignorance? What’s driving it all?..." https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-03-19/end-trust He asks, "What's driving it all"? I think it's blatantly obvious... F'n Leftism.. their greed and power lust! The Lefties have been grinding on America for the last 100-ish years, trying to "transform" us from the freedoms and culture established for us by our genius Founders via the US Constitution and Bill of Rights. American Democraps (RINOs, too) are no better than the worst Lefties throughout history!
It's an obvious concern. Whatever he may once have had up there has since been blended into a smoothie.
The claim that one party is responsible for all that ails America while believing their party is angelic and beyond reproach is evidence of how we have all reached the bottom of open discourse. In a contest with no right answer both sides simply become pigs rolling around in shit thinking the smell is coming from the other pig.
While I absolutely agree that both parties are the problem here (a third or more party system would be welcome) the one agreement I have with blaming the left on many social issues is that in just about every circumstance, it is the left telling the right how to think, what to feel, what should be acceptable, how they should change, why they are racist/sexist/something-else-ist and how they are dumb for not believing what folks on the left believe. In many cases conservatives just want to be left the hell alone and are fine with the left thinking how it wants as long as they get to think what they want. Admittedly, I am posting this from the view of the conservative. But man, I sure would love for people on the left to stop telling me what I should think, what I should pay for, how I should live and how intolerant I am for not wanting to live other than how I've been living all along.
I do agree the left has gotten carried away with hypocrisy of "freedoms" unless you think differently and this has taken them away from the energy to support positive social movements in the old days (civil rights for example) to the extreme now. I also feel the far right has taken the pedestal of Christian beliefs to the same extreme in my opinion in dictating how we should live and be governed. The problems lie in extremism taking away the courage for parties to advocate more left of right and right of left ideals and allow such candidates to bring together parties. The old phrase of "reaching across the aisles" is now just bullshit. The aisle now is just like the aisle separating Chelsea and ManU supporters at a home game...a no man's land lined with security to make sure no one crosses over:
