I look at the volume profiles on a weekly basis and use them as a way to enter the HVN and POC. If you have a better usage than this, please let me know.

I use its variant TPO to swing trade. I start building a position when price enters a VAH or VAL areas. If the price goes further into those areas, I add to the position. If it leaves those areas, I exit at the POC.

If your use of volume profile earns you money, then it is the correct way. If it doesn't then it an incorrect way. There are many correct and incorrect ways to use it.

I use TPO more than VP, lot of volume is generated by algo, not telling much, particularly in days like today and yesterday.

Is it because you expect congestion here so you expect a trading range?
